Your pipe replaced, your driveway left alone

Low pressure, a rising bill, a wet patch on the lawn or a lead pipe flagged in a survey. We find what has actually failed and put it right — usually without lifting a single block of your paving.

The sector

The pipe from your boundary to your house is yours.

This surprises most people. The water company looks after the pipe up to the point where it crosses from public land onto your property, usually at or near the boundary. From there to your building it is private pipework, and it is the responsibility of the property it supplies — including any leak on it, and including the bill for the water lost.

Most of these pipes were laid decades ago in lead, galvanised steel or early polythene. They rarely fail suddenly. Pressure drops a little each year, a bill creeps up, a patch of lawn stays green through a dry August, and then a joint gives way under the driveway.

We locate the problem before breaking any ground, tell you honestly whether it needs a repair or a full renewal, and use trenchless moling wherever the ground allows — which means two small pits rather than a trench across your garden.

Why Cascade

What matters when it is your house.

  1. 01

    We look before we dig

The defect is located acoustically first. That is the difference between a small hole where the problem is and a trench across the garden looking for it.

  2. 02

Approved to work on drinking water

WaterSafe approved contractor and WIAPS registered — the straightforward way to check that whoever touches your supply is qualified to.

  3. 03

    Your surfaces are put back

Tarmac, block paving, paths and planting are reinstated as part of the job and part of the price, not left for you to arrange with someone else.

  4. 04

We will tell you if a repair will do

Where the pipe is otherwise sound, a targeted repair is cheaper and less disruptive, and we will say so rather than defaulting to the bigger job.

  5. 05

    Thirty years, locally

Three decades working under London and Home Counties streets, so we know what tends to be in the ground before we arrive.

Low pressure, a bill that has jumped, damp ground, or a pipe you think might be lead — a short description and a postcode are enough for us to tell you what you are probably dealing with. If you think it is lead, send a photo of the pipe near your internal stopcock.
