Poor Water Pressure

The minimum a water company has to supply is 1 bar pressure at your property boundary, your existing supply pipe may be restricting the flow of water to your house.

The internal diameter of your supply pipe can affect the amount of water it is able to carry and this could appear as poor pressure.

There are a lot of factors that may have an impact on your water pressure resulting in problems within your home .

 

 

• Leaks – Any leak you have on your supply can affect the pressure, and requires repairing.

• High water bill – This can change seasonally but can also be the sign of a leak.

• Shared supply pipes - your water supply may be connected to a neighbour and in peak times can be affected, you may want or need your own separate supply.

• Supply pipe size - The smaller diameter can drastically reduce the flow rate to the property, we can install a new supply pipe consisting of 25mm MDPE to rectify this.

• Pipe Restrictions – The most common supply pipes on older properties consist of lead and galvanised iron this can greatly reduced the flow rate to your property, there is also a higher risk of leaks and should ideally be replaced for new MDPE pipe.

• Boilers and showers – New combi boilers and showers will need a sufficient  level of flow to work effectively.
